INTERVENTIONS IN CHRONIC PAIN

Can information and communication technologies be useful for people with pain?

SUMMARY

This line of research deals with using ICTs to treat pain problems. The main project in this area consists of developing and testing an online treatment for children with recurrent abdominal pain and their families. At the present time, we are carrying out a clinical trial to evaluate the effectiveness of this program.
However, the group is interested in applying ICTs to interventions in other pain problems from a biopsychosocial perspective. The basic idea is that ICTs can improve or facilitate access to treatments for pain problems that otherwise would be quite difficult
